Kathleen Ferrier

President

Kathleen is an urban planner with 18 years multi-disciplinary experience working in San Diego. Her passion is creating vibrant, healthy cities where people have equal opportunities to thrive.

 

 

 






Dave Abrams

Treasurer

Dave Abrams is a retired City Planner and Community Association Manager who has the background and time to assist C-3 in fulfilling our mission. He is serving a fourth term as Treasurer for the group and will strive for financial stability and sound accounting practice for the organization.

 

 





 

Susan Baldwin

Secretary

Susan Baldwin recently retired from SANDAG where she worked as a senior regional planner on land use and housing issues for 27 years. Her interests also include historic preservation and preservation of San Diego's backcountry.

 







 


Artemis Spyridonidis

VP of Promotions

Artemis is an attorney and has a background in local politics and small business advocacy.  Her core issues in planning are affordable housing, open space, and infrastructure.  She serves as the board’s VP of Promotions. 








Kate Goodson

VP of Development

Kate is the founding principal of POP/ARCH, a local placemaking studio that works to transform underutilized public spaces into vibrant community assets. She is actively working to spread inspiration and excitement about placemaking, tactical urbanism, and sustainable development in San Diego through her involvement with community organizations and on the Boards of the San Diego Architectural Foundation and C-3.






Roger Lewis

Immediate Past President, Chair Advocacy Committee

Roger's local advocacy has spanned 21 years on planning, redevelopment, and land use advisory boards. He is an ardent supporter of cross border cultural and business exchanges and vibrant urban communities. Roger earned a BA in Ecology, Behavior and Evolution from UCSD and an MA in City Planning from SDSU. He worked in the federal land use planning realm for 13 years. 

 



 

 



Nick Marinovich

Project Manager County of San Diego in Capital Facility Planning/Finance for 32 years, Chair Sweetwater School Bond Oversight Committee, Director California League of Bond Oversight Committees.


 

 







Larry Herzog

Herzog teaches city planning at SDSU; he has written or edited 10 books about cities, and has taught or served as urban planning/design consultant in Europe and Latin America.

 

 






 

Joe LaCava

Joe brings 40 years as a land use consultant to private clients, public agencies, and non-profits. Joe joined C3 to continue his work as a community leader on diverse local issues    

 










Xavier Leonard

Xavier is a leader in the field that unites civic technology and community engagement. He has expertise in placemaking, startups, social entrepreneurship, community organizing, collaborative design, Open Data, Open Source software, team leadership, and staff development.

 









Paulina Lis

Paulina works as the Executive Director of USGBC San Diego Chapter, she is a LEED AP with OM and ND designation. Her background is in Tourism and Designation management and she is passionate about neighborhood and city scale solutions that promote sustainable development. 

 

 






Cary Lowe

Cary Lowe is a land use lawyer, mediator and planning consultant. He has taught law and urban planning courses at several California universities, and he writes and speaks on land use and environmental issues. He is interested in policies which promote the environmental and economic sustainability of the San Diego region, particularly relating to housing and water.

 

 






Deanna Spehn

Deanna has served as Policy Director/Senior Policy Advisor for Mayor Susan Golding, Senator Christine Kehoe and now for Senator Toni Atkins. She is a long time Tierrasanta planning group member.


 










Diego Velasco

Diego's professional experience is solidly grounded in both architecture and urban planning, with over 15 years experience as an urban designer, architectural designer, and project manager on a range of projects. His urban design work spans a broad range of professional experience with varying scales and scope.

 







Kristen Victor

Kristen’s passionate and visionary approach is a catalyst for behavior changes, driven by an understanding of our history and culture and optimizing awareness, collaborations and experiences to seize moments of opportunity to effect real change.
